    had a cure on their tongues. About fifteen years ago there lived in Lower Polredmond a man who was able to cure all sickness. Also there lived in the townland of Cloomahara a woman named Mary Joyce who set charms for sore heads. Many people came to her some of whom were said to be cured. She was called "Máire an Gabha" because her husband was a blacksmith. Both are now dead.
    The above was obtained from the children's parents.

  2. Long ago there was a pot of gold found in the townland of Cloomahara in a field called "Sliabáin". It was found by Michael Web who is now dead. One day as he was ploughing the field he came across the pot which had no opening. He examined the pot and found it was a great weight. He knew there was some treasure inside. He then took off his jacket and put it round the pot and went home. When he opened it he found it filled with sovereigns. He found the pot under a fairy bush and it is believed that it belonged to the fairies and that they were very angry when he took it.
    Every Hallow Eve night since then there are fairies seen there and people very often hear the noise of chains under the bush. Michael Web went to America and his wife is not long dead. A few years before she
